I had the urge to paint a cow, so went to a local dairy to take some pictures. I had never been to a large dairy farm and was intrigued by how many black and white patterns there are and how different each cow looked. I thought this girl was a beauty. So I took off her ear tags and surrounded her with pink to make her feel special. And here she is, my "Princess in Pink"
I love to make a connection with anyone who views my art by touching a shared sentiment. I prefer simplifying and abstracting elements to express a feeling, emotion or moment in time rather than replicating my subject. I have always loved animals, with dogs being particularly special. Bringing out their spirits in art feels like sharing their love. As a self-taught artist, I enjoy working in an array of materials and mediums - acrylic paint on canvas is my current favorite.
